Pequaywan Township is served by a number of citizen-run groups in the area.
The Pequaywan Lake Volunteer Fire Department, in conjunction with other area fire departments, provides fire defense and first-responder services to the community.
The Pequaywan Lakes Association provides opportunities for members to learn about area history, environmental issues and events going on in the community.
Recycling services are available at the Northstar Town Hall on Route 44. Hours are 9:00 a.m. – Noon on Saturdays.
The Cloquet Valley Internet Initiative (CVII) is working to bring true, high-speed Internet service to Pequaywan Township and the surrounding area. Internet service is currently provided through Frontier Communications. A somewhat faster, fixed- wireless service is expected to be installed in 2015 by Coop Light & Power.
