RESOLUTION 2020-016: AUTHORIZING MAIL BALLOTING FOR 2021 MARCH TOWN ELECTION

WHEREAS: COVID-19 makes it impractical and imprudent for Pequaywan Township to conduct fully in-person balloting;

WHEREAS: the town board feels this action is in the public interest of voters and election judges in Pequaywan Township;

WHEREAS: Minnesota Statute Section 204B.45 provides for a town of any size not located in a metropolitan county as defined by Minnesota Statutes Section 473.121 to conduct balloting by mail;

WHEREAS, the Town Board of Pequaywan is requesting approval from St. Louis County to conduct mail balloting for 2021 March town election only;

WHEREAS; Pequaywan Township will be responsible for administrating the 2021 March town election with guidance from St. Louis County Elections;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the town board support this resolution with the signature of the chair and attested by the town clerk.
